Two interactive whiteboard cross-curricular music software packages have been produced by Jeana Hopkins and Ilze Bull (both music specialists at Key Stages 1, 2 and 3) to support Infant and Primary school teachers to deliver the music national curriculum..

Both software packages are cross- curricular based and they give teachers an opportunity to deliver and develop lessons through other subject areas.

One of the advantages of the scheme is that non music specialists can easily use the software, helping pupils to develop their musical skills through the interactive whiteboard.

 

‘Interact’ is an Early Years Foundation Stage and KS1 music software package which supports the EYFS goals, ICT, Literacy and Numeracy

 

‘loop’  like ‘interact’ is an interactive whiteboard music software package but aimed at KS2, with links to Year 7 pupils at KS3. It incorporates the use of ICT, Literacy, Numeracy, Science, Geography and History. The ‘loop’ software also includes a school music policy, an annual

overview and enables teachers to monitor the progression of music throughout the school.

The ‘loop’ scheme of work has been a collaborative project between ourselves, CfBT and Lincolnshire music services and is now widely used in Lincolnshire Primary schools, with Jeana providing training and support wherever necessary.
